Spent the day today with my sister and are kids scrapping, I gave the oldest an album for Christmas, I had a lot of her baby pictures so I started the album and included some supplies for her to continue. What I didn't expect was that the other kids will be interested, so everybody wanted an album and wanted to come over to start it. I picked up the Cosmo Criket kit from Tuesday Morning and predesign a lot of the pages for the 2 little ones (7 &8)  but the two older ones had 12X12 album and the boy had a special  manly looking album that looks more like a drawing book. We had a blast, I wasn't sure about the younger ones attention span but boy did they actually get into it, they did all the work them self, I did the cutting and inking the stamps. They went through 2 glue runners, 2 glue stick, half a pack of glue dot, lost count of the flowers after about 50, multiple spool of ribbons, but the time spent with them seeing gthe joy on their faces after each LO is complete is priceless. After scrapping, we had a big lavish dinner made by me in between scrapping, baked cookies and cleaned up.

My nephew initially wasn't going to scrap with us, saying it was too girly, but we were having so much fun and he kept coming back downstairs (boys/men were upstairs playing games) and hovering. So I asked if he wanted to join and he said maybe, so I went I got the album I have gotten for him and boy did he have fun. You can see my baby girl C every time the camera goes up, she hold up her current LO to show off. You are only seeing one of the tables, the other table had the Bigshot, stamps, ink and paper cutter.

This is the Practical Scappers Friday Sketch, the PP is really hard to work with, actually I think the whole kit is hard to work with, the PP are double sided but they have the same pattern on both side. PP Poppy Ink, alphas Angelas Ash, inqueboard.
You can see my Christmas Cactus in bloom in the back, tends to bloom year round so most like the location, had it for about 7 years now.

Finish up the LO for the Two Peas Pattern Paper Class , using it for The ScrapRoom week 4 Challenge and also the Practical Scrapper PP challenge. This was a lot of cutting but it was a fun LO to do.

The PP is K&I Bloom really love the paper, the flowers in the heart all came from 1 sheet of PP including the strip below, so the whole PP look like the strip. There is an inqueboard heart shape below the flowers that outline the heart and the rest was just filled in, the butterfly also came from a sheet in that kit, the alphas are Bubblegum Shoe box thickers.

Stopped over at Tuesday Morning on the way from home today and they had two new scrapbooking kit one was a Brenda Pinnick for $14.99 this is an amazing kit previously from QVC the album alone is worth the cost not to talk of the paper and embellishments. The second kit is by Poppy Ink also from QVC for $9.99

This LO for Scrap a Little and Practical Scrapper is finally complete, for Scrap a little the challenge sounded easy use pink, blue, brown and the word new. Had the picture I wanted right away but finding the right combo of pbb was hard, most of my initial LO looked horrible but finally settle on this one, I think it worked out okay. I love the blue flowered PP, it is part of the Colorbok everyday memory kit, the chipboard are inqueboard think I have a boat load of these things and I think I now have a better way of painting them in, the flowers are Making Memories Flowershop and the alphas are unknown. Would see if I can get a better picture during the day, my schedule has been so hectic. This is my sister's wedding and it is the blending of 2 families. Practical Scrapper was use a PP.

Stopped by Tuesday Morning after the Movies yesterday, my son was off of school for Teacher's Professional Day, we went over to the CineMark and saw the Book of Eli. It was a very good movie even though I know the reviews were mixed but you have to have patience till the end because that is when you really get it, it is also one of those movies that you need to watch more that once to truly understand.
At Tuesday Morning found K&I Bloom paper that I have been wanting for $3 and 16 pack of Angela Ash Alphas this sold originally at QVC for $3.99, 4 different colors (silver, black, gold and clear), American Craft eternal love pp for $2 (25 count) and they also have this cute little tin collection of Making Memories flowershop for $2. I spoke to the store manager and she said they have a warehouse full of scrapbooking stuff and they don't officially come out until the 2/2.

I am still working on the LO for my 2009 races actually I am not even done with 2008, but yesterday finished  up the LO for my last half marathon of 2009 which was also my first away race using sketch #87 from the Creative Scrappers

The PP is from Making Memories Scrapbook Project Pad Note Worthy, found at Tuesday Morning last year for $2. I use an orange gel pen to outline the flower in the PP for more dimension, cut out the flowers using my Big Shot and the Hello Kitty Hibiscus Flower Die.

I have been following the 2010 CHA via Two Peas in a Bucket and have been quite amaze at some of the new things coming out, so now when I grew up I want to be a scrapper and a runner. Life is good.

Finished up Sketch 182 for The Scrapbooking Challenge, which is also the start of my son's graduation album. He picked out the PP himself and I just had to make it work, but it ended up being a beautiful paper from DCWV, I really am beginning to like the DCWV line, very versatile to work with. The Chipboard star is painted inqueboard which I absolute love and the ribbon is Martha Stewart Putty Walnut which is reversible.

This a 2 page layout and for the second part I use sketch #25 from Capture These Sketches, to make the second page

pent the day working on this weeks challenge from The ScrapRoom Blog but that was after crusing a couple of Walmarts, Michaels and Tuesday Morning, I think I enjoy the shopping as much as the scrapping. Picked up the Cosmo Cricket 8x8 box for $14 for my nieces, they are coming over next week, I gave the oldest a started album with supply for Christmas and she gets to fill in the rest but the two youngest ones also wants theirs so they all will be coming over to play.

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Stopped at Tuesday Morning after work today and they had thickers for $0.69, Martha Stewart texture and dimensional stickers for $0.99 and quite a bit of American Craft paper for $1.99 the same paper design on one side solid on the other, 25 count. So I bought a bunch of thickers, 1 pack of the MS stickers, one of the AC paper called Minstrone and a small vertical Chopper storage box for my desk. The sales clerk indicated that the next big sale coming up has a lot of scrapbooking if I want to come back next week since they are getting the bulk of their shipment Monday.

For Sketch 181 at Scrapbook Challenge, I pull out 2 fun pictures of my boys, the funny thing about their baby picture now that they are both grown is that it brings back lots of fun memories  not only for me but alo for them when I explain to them what was going on or where the picture was taken.

This was also entered for the use lot of notions challenege and also paper cutting challenge. The top flower on the right was stamped on the cardstock then on scrap paper and then cut out. Then bottom right was an idea from an old copy of a scrapbooking magazine, just a bunch of different size circles using decorative scissors to cut them out, crumpled and edges inked. The PP is from a K&C company stack I think it is called Roam and the yellow flower on the left is from prima, edges inked using Marvy Le Plume II 82. Persimmon.

I found the Marvy Le Plume II markers on clearance at M, since 1 or 2 was missing so I bought the victorian and bright set for about $9, really enjoy using them so far.

First Scrapbooking Post

I decided to create a separate blog for my scrapbooking separate from my fitness/running blog, it was beginning to get a bit confusing to post SC things on my running blog or to link my running blog to a SC challenge. You are welcome to read either one, I am going to be going back to running at the end  of the month currently on a 2 months break to let my body completely heal from injury.

Did a LO for the sketch of the week at Sketch Inspiration

The music notes were hand cut and I use an inqueboard to make the drawing on the left, the yellow paper is part of the Perfect pages young at heart scrapbook page kit.

Am really new to this, only being scrapbooking for 3 months now but I seem to hvae acquired a lot in such a short people definately easily enabled.
